Rally Around The Schools

Keep Saturday, September 18th free because you'll want to join the thousands of Metro Detroit area parents, students and friends of the Detroit Public Schools at the ”Back to School Rally” on Belle Isle near the Casino. The District's annual event that helps keep students, parents and school staff pumped up for the school year lasts from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. There will ll be lots of activities for children, health screenings, refreshments, school supplies, parent information about the many school programs, prizes, DPS marching bands and a special performance by rap group, Slum Village! You need to be there. Your child needs to be there. The ”Back To School Rally” is hosted by the Detroit Public Schools in collaboration with the Mayor's Neighborhood City Halls and the Council of Baptist Pastors. For more information call 873-7098.
