For the last five years, the Pasteur Elementary School Alumni Foundation has been a busy group. Their database holds about 900 names and addresses of alumni from the 30’s through the 80’s. The active membership is dedicated to the students and staff of their old alma mater.
The alumni produce a bi-annual newsletter, tutor in the school when possible, help feed needy families at Christmas, and give hard cover Webster dictionaries to all of the graduates. They have also purchased a CD player and storage units for the band area and about $1,100 worth of Leapfrog computer learning materials for Pre-K, kindergarten and first grade classes along with donating over 200 books to the library. This year they continued their tradition of awarding scholarships to high school grads who are alumni of Pasteur. Scholarships of $1,000 were given to two former Pasteur students who graduated from Mumford.
