Three Mackenzie graduates received $1,000 scholarships presented by Gail Anderson, a channel 4 weather forecaster.
She presented the scholarships in the name of her family foundation, the Jalyn Foundation at the Foundation’s banquet at Cobo Hall. Along with the scholarships, Gail, her mother and her daughter, Jalyn, sponsored a Saturday Mackenzie Clean Sweep. About 90 students, staff, alumni and other friends of the school, volunteered to clean and repair the school. Supplies, equipment and some funding was donated by neighboring companies.
