Noted photographer Dawoud Bey found the faces of Chadsey High School students to be to his liking and created a show, Dawoud Bey:Detroit Portraits, featuring the faces of students. It's on display at the Detroit Institute of Art.
Now you will have a chance to hear Bey talk about the residency portraiture project at Chadsey High School and his work in general, with Mike Smith, senior editor of The New York Times. It will take place on Thursday, July 22 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the Lecture Hall at the Detroit Institute of Arts. Tickets are $10.
