It Takes A Community…..

Students, parents, teachers and community members have no problem following great leaders and organizations that give awards have no problem honoring them.

It is the work above and beyond the call of duty that identifies those worthy of praise and Cheryl White, the principal of the Detroit Lions Academy is just such a person.

She was named the winner of the MetLife Foundation Ambassadors in Education Award which was created to recognize outstanding principals in middle, junior high and high schools in public school Districts.

There were only 15 Ambassadors in Education Award Winners selected across the nation from only 15 states. In Ms. White’s honor, the school receives a $5,000 grant to continue their community involvement projects.
