Warm Up To Some Summer Reading Fun

Warm Up to Reading, the annual summer program designed to encourage young people to fall in love with the written word, will have its kickoff on Saturday, June 26, 2004 from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the main branch of the Detroit Public Library.

The library is located at 5201 Woodward Ave. The festivities will take place on the library’s Cass lawn. There will be music, food, lots of prizes and free books. Carlos Pena of the Detroit Tigers will make a special guest appearance.

The event is sponsored by the Detroit Public Schools along with the Detroit Public Library, the Detroit Tigers, Friends of Detroit Public Library and the Great Lakes Booksellers Association.
