Partners In Education

Thirteen DPS students have taken advantage of the generous offer by The Broad Foundation to give full scholarships to Michigan State University to DPS students who have been accepted into the five-year teacher preparation program at the MSU College of Education.

Upon completion of their education, the new teachers pledge to return to the District and teach for four years. They are the first DPS students to use the $6 million scholarship program which was pledged in November and is funded by philanthropist and Detroit native, Eli Broad.

Ten of the students just graduated from DPS high schools and three are currently students at MSU. They are:
