RESA Names Teacher Of The Year

Principal Dr. Deborah Hunter-Harvill, parent-Mrs. Rita Carter-Brown and teacher-Mrs. Barbara Andrews of Damon Keith Elementary, know a great teacher when they see one and they wanted everyone to know about her.

That’s why they nominated Pamela Reeves for the Wayne RESA (Regional Education Service Agency) Teacher of the Year Award 2003-2004. RESA agreed with their opinion and Ms. Reeves became one of the six teachers in the county to receive the prestigious award. She has been an educator with the District for over 30 years during which time she was also named one of the Outstanding Teachers in America.

Everyone at Damon Keith has grown to know her for bringing innovative approaches to education into the classroom; having a thorough knowledge of her subjects; and being able to excite her students and help them truly appreciate learning. Her principal says of her, “I believe that she comes to school everyday to make certain that all students can learn. She knows what, when and how to make learning happen.”
