All candidates must be proficient in MS Word and Excel. Previous clerical experience is preferred. Excellent customer service skills a must. - (Prospective candidates must successfully pass all sections of the pre-eligibility test).
Regular Attendance is critical; must have an exemplary attendance record.
Must be able to verify whether U.S. citizen, resident alien, or otherwise authorized to accept employment in the U.S.
Must be physically able to perform the duties and responsibilities outlined with or without accommodations.
Pre-Eligibility Test (Automated): Includes two five-minute timed writings (typing) in which candidates must type a minimum of 35 words per minute, and also obtain successful results in the areas of spelling, proofing, grammar, math and basic word-processing skills using Microsoft Word.
Under the general supervision of the Principal/Administrator/Designee, the Substitute Clerical will:
* Provide customer service, greet visitors, take messages, schedule appointments;
* Maintain accurate and appropriate records and files relative to the effective operation of the office;
* Complete in an accurate and timely manner essential office reports;
* Organize and type a variety of reports, letters, internal documents, file, keep informed of internal procedures;
* Create documents/correspondence using work processing software (Microsoft Word and Excel);
* Answer related internal and external questions within authority;
* Prepare memoranda, answer telephones, operate modern office equipment;
* Communicate effectively both orally and in written form;
* Fulfill other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Administrator or designee.
