The successful candidate must possess a valid Michigan vocational license relevant to instruction in a Technology and Design curriculum. Must possess and provide evidence of a minimum of a high school diploma and have a minimum of four (4) years of relevant full-time (forty hours per week) industry experience in the vocational area to be taught (8,000 hours). Two years or 4,000 hours must be within the six years preceding submission of application.
Candidate must be certified in Technology and Design/TX. Additionally, the candidate must have proven experience in the following: • Image setting and printing technology • Adobe CS2 Suite • Off-set printing (single and multicolored) as well as maintenance of printing presses. • Fundamentals of black and white photography as well as digital photography. • Use of an image setter • Folding, cutting and darkroom procedures • Knowledge of stripping • Estimating job costs for printing and the ability to provide instruction on the processes necessary to run a small print shop. • At least one year in trade experience Additional job responsibilities include: • Management and operation of a Cass Tech production class which is designed to process print materials for the entire school. (Calendar, Newspapers, Newsletters, Invitations, Flyers, Programs etc.) • Sponsor the Photo and Graphic Arts Clubs. (CANDIDATE MUST PROVIDE EVIDENCE OF INDUSTRY WORK EXPERIENCE AT TIME OF APPLICATION.)
Regular Attendance is critical; must have an exemplary attendance record.
Must be able to verify whether U.S. citizen, resident alien, or otherwise authorized to accept employment in the U.S.
Must be physically able to perform the duties and responsibilities outlined with or without accommodations.

Please be prompt when arriving at the fingerprinting site. In order to be fingerprinted, you must present your state issued picture ID or passport, the completed LiveScan Fingerprint Request form, the completed Identix Michigan Fingerprint Applicant Information form, as well as the fingerprint fee of $65.25.
All fingerprinting appointments will be scheduled by Detroit Public Schools, Human Resources Department.
