Teachers representing all curriculum areas (k-12) spend time during the summer at worksites requiring the basic skills that they teach in their own classrooms. Career Preparation System grant funds are used to pay teachers a stipend for the hours spent on the job. A culminating activity requires teachers to prepare and submit a lesson plan--with accompanying activities-- for use in demonstrating to their students how the lessons presented in the classroom are relevant to skills required in the business world.
