Technology Education is the study of technology and its effects on individuals, society, and civilization. All Career Pathway are impacted by technology. Career Preparation System Grant Funding supported the design of the Detroit Public Schools Technology Plan and a Technology Curriculum Guide, Grades K-12, based upon information in Michigan's Technology Content Standards and Benchmarks. The purpose of the Technology Curriculum Guide is to provide direction to teachers, administrators, parents and communities in developing, implementing and improving Technology Education as an area of study in grades K-12. Technology modules, materials and supplies have been purchased for students in Grades 2, 4, 6 and 9. Computer courseware has been purchased for use in building a foundation of basic academic skills needed in order to build technology skills.
