Assessment/Education Development Plan (EDP)
All 8th grade students are required to have an Education Development Plan prepared and in the official counseling file before they make the transition to high school. Preparation of this EDP begins with an assessment of the student's career interests and aptitudes. After assessment results are available, they are discussed with the student and parent. Counselors and teachers work with students to provide facilities and materials for use in conducting research on careers that match the students' career pathway interest and aptitudes. (The EDP is one component in the federal Education YES! / "No Child Left Behind" Legislation.)
