McColl Auditorium Dedication

Reverend Carole A. Rose was a dedicated teacher, math specialist, school administrator, child advocate and minister. She also served as the assistant Principal at McColl Elementary School where she made a tremendous impact on the staff and was the driving force behind the academic achievement of the students. In her memory, the school staff and students will name the school auditorium the Carole A. Rose Auditorium in a brief ceremony on Wednesday, May 28th at 1:00 p.m. A plaque bearing her name will be posted near the entrance. The dedication also includes a presentation to Rev. Rose’s family from the staff and students, a balloon release and the gift of a a single a rose for everyone in attendance. Though many of the current students don’t remember Rev. Rose, they have benefited from her commitment to their progress. Upon her death in 2007 she stipulated that donations should be made to the school as a memoriam to help pay for items that the students need. Honoring h er life with the dedication of the auditorium helps keep her memory alive and helps the students understand the importance of acknowledging those who care about them even if it's a person they never knew.
