• Disitrict Improvement Plan: Breakthrough Towards Acheiving Adequate Yearly Progress 2006 - 2008

Mission

The mission for the Office of School Improvement and School Development is to coordinate the school improvement planning process and the school development process in all the Detroit Public Schools so that the local plan is aligned with the District Improvement Plan in a way that results in improved student achievement and performance.

Goals

1. Facilitate the development of school plans that contains required target, Grade Level Action Plans (GLAP) and other data contributing to building the capacity of school improvement with laser-like precision.
2. Support local School Improvement Teams by providing technical assistance in the alignment of curriculum, instruction, and assessment in support of achieving high quality standards of schooling and the development of a self-renewing learning community.
