The Office of Food Services offers Free and Reduced Meals to qualifying students. Students qualify based upon guidelines set by the Federal government. Applications may be picked up at your child’s school. After completing the application, return it to the school for processing. Should your child qualify, a notification letter will be sent to the student’s school within 10 business days.
The Office of Food Service utilizes the Family Application, as it is commonly referred, whereas one application is used for all students who reside in the same household. No separate application is needed regardless of whether all children attend different schools. The exception applies to Foster children who require a separate application for each child.
Free & Reduced Meal Applications not only allow students to eat meals at school for free or at reduced prices, it also qualifies the District for significant State and Federal funding through programs such as 31A, Title 1 and E-rate. These programs provide millions of dollars to the District each year. We ask that even if you do not think that your child will eat school lunch, please complete the application and turn it in as it will directly benefit your child’s school.
