Site Management is a grounds maintenance department that provides the following services, many of which are performed by external contractors:

  • Quality Assurance/Inspection Services
  • Landscape Improvements
  • Management, Coordination, and Inspection of Outsourced Turf Maintenance Program
  • Shrub Pruning
  • Tree Trimming and Removal
  • Spring and Fall Clean-Ups
  • Guidance, Review, Authorization, and Construction Management of all Proposed Site Improvements (Including but not Limited to Playground Equipment, Site Furnishings, Fencing, Asphalt and Concrete Paving, etc)
  • Playground Maintenance
  • Flag Pole Repairs
  • Concrete Repair - Replacement
  • Asphalt Repair - Replacement
  • Athletic Field Marking
  • Athletic Field Maintenance
  • Exterior Bleacher Maintenance
  • Fencing Repair and Replacement
  • Guard Rails
  • Exterior Handrail Repairs
  • Restoration of Storm Damage
  • Maintenance of Manholes, Catch Basins and Storm Sewers

How do I access the services of Site Management?

Request a Work Order by contacting the Service Response Center at 578-7100. If the nature of your Work Order Request possesses an eminent safety hazard, please contact Department of Site Management prior to calling the Service Response Center.

For questions or concerns regarding In house or contracted services, please call 578-7225.

Services that do not require a Work Order are:

  • Removal of snow in excess of two inches
  • Routine mowing and trimming
  • Semi-annual clean-ups.

Who is responsible for changes in school signage when a building is renamed?

A policy is being implemented that requires a change in signage as part of the renaming of a school. Detroit Building Code requires a permit and a licensed sign installer for sign Installation.
